Dog Days of Summer

This morning, we felt like this.

Slowly, lazily doing a little stroll outside in the hot, hot, HOT morning air. Whatever, it was a rest day.

But tomorrow, we’re hoping to look like this.

Experiencing cooler temperatures (crossing our fingers) and the excitement, thrill and joy that comes with opening the door in the morning and kicking off an amazing long, training run for Team RMHC.

Too cute, right? And I guarantee you’ll like the first photo even more when you know the story behind it …

Asha, the adorable dog strutting his stuff, is actually a therapy pet at the Ronald McDonald House in Southern Alberta, Canada. He provides love and comfort to the families staying at the House, helping relieve homesickness and greeting families after a long day at the hospital with his warm, cuddly face. Many Ronald McDonald Houses have pet therapy programs, enriching their mission, helping to treat the spirits of children and families, giving them strength to fight illness or injury.

Just like Team RMHC, therapy dogs are part of an extended network of support helping children heal faster, cope better, and stay happy.

You can read more about pet therapy programs at RMHC, including stories of Jerry and Mogie on our website. And you can find a photo gallery of more adorable RMHC therapy pets on Pinterest.

Have a great weekend run, Team!
